I was raised in the Northwest, graduated with a BA from Whitworth University, and now live in Seattle with my wife, Mary. Along with sports, growing up I was immersed in the love of the arts through my parents Ray and Judy, who exposed my sister and me to a wide range of creative and stimulating events. As I continue my professional and “off hours” life, I am appreciative of the many stage productions, concerts, galleries, etc., that continue to play a role in and effect my life.
Working with the Carlsen Cello Foundation is one of the ways I find to participate in the arts and, more importantly, to support young people in the pursuit of their cello aspirations. The Foundation is truly an amazing, dynamic resource for deserving students that have a need for improved instruments.
